Why Not Start Now:
A Call Back to Humanity
Social Commentary

Something has shifted. The world feels heavier now—colder, more chaotic. Something tender has slipped through our fingers, and we didn’t even notice until it was gone.
People strayed from religion. Kindness is no longer our mantra. Politeness is no more our way of interacting with other humans. Everything is done carelessly—soaked in oblivion and mean spiritedness.
We don’t even recognize ourselves anymore. We don’t recognize our humanity. Our patience is thin; our impulsiveness, astounding.
We’ve become a society with no morals, no ethics—yet we rally behind those who echo our own misbeliefs. When we’re not heard, we create chaos. We burn down whatever stands in our way. We either care too much or not at all. And when we go down, we make sure we drag others with us.
How did we drift so far deep into a hell even Lucifer might find intolerable?
It’s not about living in hell, it’s about creating it for everyone around us. We stand for nothing, yet have opinions on everything. We’re certain in our uncertainty. We act like we deserve everything. The only meaning we cling to is found in meaningless scrolls on social media. We don't love our lives—yet we hate everyone else’s. We lack motivation, yet exude envy.
So how do we go back to basics? How do we find our way out of this darkness?
Our souls are jaded. Our energy, depleted. Our inspiration is crushed beneath waves of negativity and derangement. But we cannot save the world until we first save ourselves.
So why not start now?
Start small. Start with those around you. Show kindness. Exude patience. Emit light. Sometimes those who need it most are within reach. And sometimes—it’s us. So why not start within? Why not teach ourselves to be kind, patient and hopeful? Our souls are starving for it.
It starts with us. From there, it ripples out—through gestures, through habits, through example. That’s how we reclaim something worth believing in.
It starts with us. And if we do it right, it doesn’t end there.
